Painting the Town
17th August 2018
First of all I would like to thank those of you who have sent pictures of completed workshop pieces, I do like to see how they turn out, everyone manages to make them so personal.
I will post up some pictures in the gallery soon - My Autumn resolution?? is to work on the website, I would rather be stitching and painting than sat in front of the computer but I will do my best to stick to it!!!
I will be posting my upcoming bookings on my events page
17th November 2018
I have updated some parts of this site, hope you like the new photo's.
I have been busy teaching workshops, giving talks and trying to develop new kits and work shops, so look out in the New Year when all will be revealed.
In the meantime, hope you all have a great Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.

Home from the Craft4Crafters Show at Shepton Mallet. I had visits from old students and met up with some old friends, It was good to be back there again.
The show gets bigger each year and there were so many taster workshops on offer - including mine!!. There was also a 2nd Hall exhibiting quilts, neddlefelting, textile pictures to name but a few.
The next Craft4Crafters is at Westpoint, Exeter in February and then again at the Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet, in April. See my events page for full details.
2nd October 2018
I have been busy preparing workshops and new kits for the Craft4Crafters Show in Shepton Mallet later this month, I will also be taking part in the Big Textile Show in Leicester at the end of the month. Full details are now on my events page. Do come and say hello if you are visiting either show.
I have also had all my work re-photographed, I am really pleased with the results, will be adding them to my website in the following weeks !!! Like all of us I could really use a few more hours in the day.
My name is Anne Hellyer
I started this website to introduce my painted and stitched textiles to a wider audience.
I love paint and I love textiles and I combine the two in my work.
I hand paint all the fabric I use and then print the finer details, and embellish with machine stitch. Each piece is individually designed,
I create work that is flexible - able to change location as the mood takes you!
To that end each piece is self supporting. They do not require frames - can be either free standing or wall mounted - manipulated into a shape or hung "flat".
I do hope you enjoy looking at my site.
7th March 2019
Finally had time to put some new kits on my shop, they will also be available at the Craft4CRafters Show at Shepton Mallet in April.
I will also be taking part in an exhibition with Zero NIne Textile Artists in May at Harold Hillier Gardens in Romsey but first of all off to the Sewing for Pleasure Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham next week to hang "The Soldiers in Petticoats" pieces of art. These were part of an exhibition by Andover Branch of the Embroiderers Guild last year to commemorate the Centeary of Votes for Women (well some women anyway).
We have been given some wall space to show the beautiful pieces of work to a much larger audience. Its very exciting
